A simple Hypeddit alternative for download gates
Hypeddit is one of the best-known tools for download gates and music promotion. If you only need the gate itself, plus a page that holds all your links, you may want something lighter. That is what MuseGate is built for.
This page explains what MuseGate does, what it doesn't do, and who it fits — so you can decide quickly.
What MuseGate does
- Free download gates: fans follow you on SoundCloud, Instagram, Spotify, YouTube or TikTok to unlock a track.
- An artist page at musegate.app/profile/you with your photo, bio, social icons, links, YouTube videos and all your free downloads in one tab.
- Gate pages that take their colors from your cover art, with a player and a QR code / Story image to share them.
- Analytics for page views, gate views, unlock steps and downloads.
- A release countdown with a pre-save button (Pro).
What it doesn't do
MuseGate is not an ad platform and doesn't run contests or email campaigns. It doesn't collect fan emails yet. If those are the main reasons you use a promotion suite, keep using it — MuseGate covers the gate and the link-in-bio side.
Who it's for
- DJs and producers who give away edits, bootlegs and remixes.
- Artists who want their link-in-bio and their free downloads on the same page, under their own name.
- Anyone who wants a gate running in a few minutes without learning a dashboard full of features.
Pricing
Free: the artist page and 5 live gates, with every follow step. Pro: $5/month for up to 100 gates, custom gate links, an extra custom step, link thumbnails and featured links, name fonts, the release countdown, full analytics, a verified badge and no MuseGate branding.
Moving your gates over
- Create a free account and claim your username.
- Recreate your most downloaded tracks first: upload the file and cover, then turn on the same follow steps.
- Replace the old link in your SoundCloud "Buy link", your YouTube description and your bio.
- Keep the old gates online until the new links have been live for a few weeks.
